Meraki Wildflower has an amazing collection of dahlia varieties. I was really excited to find a few varieties that I couldn’t find elsewhere. Each of the tubers I received were already awake and sprouted. They were also packaged very well. Maggie was excellent with communication as well.

My experience was a mixed bag. Though cuttings weren't shipped when they were supposed to, she did everything she could to try to make things right and I appreciate her for doing that. I don't think I would cross her off my list because everything she sent looks very healthy, but I hope her process is a little smoother next year.

Reply from Meraki - Aug 2024: I’m sorry to hear you received blind tubers. I know how frustrating that can be. I’m wondering if this review is meant for a different seller. I don’t have record of a customer receiving a blind tuber, or sending a replacement of a blind tuber, as I only send out tubers that have undeniable eyes or have already sprouted.

I place my order in Janurary but did not receive my order until the middle of the July when it was too late to be planted in my growing zone. A portion of it was cancelled. One of the tubers I did received (a more expensive tuber) was thinner than a pencil (half the diameter to be specific), wrinkled, soft, and bendable. I contacted the seller immediately upon opening the package. She refused to refund or replace, telling me it was a, "strong tuber" and to just plant it, even though it was showing clear signs of dehydration and rot.

I ordered cuttings from Meraki Wildflower back in February. Got an email on July 15th saying they had shipped my order. It is in the 90s and has been in the 90s since June. When I ordered, the website said that they were shipping in April/May.…
I ordered cuttings from Meraki Wildflower back in February. Got an email on July 15th saying they had shipped my order. It is in the 90s and has been in the 90s since June. When I ordered, the website said that they were shipping in April/May. In the email it just said that they shipped my orders. I replied to the email asking how they were sending out cuttings in July. She replied and said they sent tubers instead because there were multiple obstacles with the cuttings. I was not asked if I wanted tubers. So I am receiving tubers on July 22nd. These will not bloom before our last frost. I asked if it was possible to get a refund because of this and the owner replied that I could only have a credit toward other tubers next year, but I don't want tubers from this farm next year. They changed their policy about refunds for cuttings after orders for cuttings had already been placed.

Dessa at Meraki was not able to send 2 orders of cuttings because of various growing issues. The cuttings were due to arrive in May, but on July 4th she said she couldn't send, and was offering tubers she bought elsewhere instead for some, and credit for the rest. She was only able to offer me a tuber for one, and the rest credit. I refused the tuber, it is too late to plant it. She refused to refund, saying it was "too time consuming". Her site "terms" mention refunds, but she has special terms under "cuttings", and those say credit the following year only. She has personally received FOUR cash refunds from our shop after changing her mind, claiming poor tubers, etc.

Meraki has a beautiful website (and photos) that make shopping her sales a lot of fun. Every tuber she sends is exactly what you'd wish for in a tuber -- an eye, a firm body and a solid neck. I will definitely be purchasing from Meraki in the future and highly recommend that you do the same! :)

Meraki is one of my very favorite growers! She’s a small scale grower that is dedicated to doing what’s possible to eliminate disease from her garden. She culls questionable plants, and sanitizes when harvesting blooms and dividing tubers.
Meraki offers consistently healthy product, great customer service and an excellent selection of hard-to-find dahlia and seed varieties.
